“LANDSCAPE PICTURESQUE”-Exhibition by Artists in Hong Kong in celebration of the 75th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China, Hong Kong Central Library

Description

"A country is like a painting, and there are so many heroes at one time." - In the land of China, there are outstanding people and places. There is no mountain that is not beautiful, and there is no water that is not beautiful. Hong Kong, a city of mountains and seas at the southern tip of the motherland, brings together the essence of Chinese and Western art and has given birth to three generations of artists, old, middle-aged and young. We conduct different artistic explorations through different media and strive to create works of art with distinctive Hong Kong characteristics.

In order to promote cultural and artistic exchanges among cities in the Greater Bay Area, Hong Kong hosted the "Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Culture and Arts Festival" for the first time this year, coordinating outstanding cultural and performing arts activities in 11 cities in the Greater Bay Area. In order to cooperate with the 4th "Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Culture and Arts Festival" and actively leverage Hong Kong's advantages as a "Chinese and foreign cultural and artistic exchange center", the "China Federation of Literary and Art Circles Hong Kong Members" (Hong Kong Federation of Literary and Art Circles), "China Federation of Literary and Art Circles" "The Painting of Rivers and Mountains" Exhibition of Works by Hong Kong Artists to Celebrate the 75th Anniversary of the Founding of the People's Republic of China" co-organized by the Hong Kong Member Branch of the Artists Association and the Hong Kong Artists Association will be held in Hong Kong from October 25 to 30, 2024 The exhibition halls 1 to 5 on the ground floor of the Central Library were grandly held.

The exhibition will last for six days and will showcase nearly 300 Hong Kong artists, with a total of nearly 300 outstanding works, of which nearly 80% are brand new or publicly exhibited for the first time. A group of participating artists used ink paintings, oil paintings, prints, illustrations, sculptures, installation art, and technology art to outline six major viewing themes: prosperity, Chinese style, elegant mountains and rivers, humanistic feelings, Hong Kong style and The creativity is boundless, allowing citizens to appreciate the inspiration, technical practice, cultural connotation and spiritual direction behind the works. This not only comprehensively demonstrates the uniqueness and diversity of Hong Kong artists, but also demonstrates the cultural soft power of the Greater Bay Area, implements the goal of "jointly building a humanistic Bay Area", and jointly promotes the inheritance and development of Chinese culture.

In addition, artist symposiums, artist demonstrations, and a special public painting experience area will be held at the exhibition site, allowing the public to appreciate the artistic creations of a hundred flowers, understand the artist's mental journey from multiple angles, and experience the painting process first-hand, cultivating the artistic sentiments of the public , aesthetic pursuit and cultural confidence, let’s tell the story of China and Hong Kong in the new era together.
