Full-day turnover of Hong Kong stocks was HK$97.41 billion, with short-sales accounting for HK$18.07 billion, or 18.55% of the market's turnover. There were 658 short-selling stocks. XIAOMI-W (01810) and TENCENT (00700) saw higher value of short sales, accounting for HK$1.39 billion and HK$1.23 billion, or 7.7% and 6.79% of the total short sales value respectively. The transactions represented 17% and 19.49% of respective stock's turnover.
TRACKER FUND (02800) and BABA-SW (09988) registered HK$827.22 million and HK$782.32 million of short sales, accounting for 4.58% and 4.33% of the total short sales values respectively. The transactions represented 21.23% and 23.96% of respective stock's turnover.
XIAOMI-W closed up HK$1.58, or 9.02%, to HK$19.1. TENCENT ended up HK$6.2, or 1.67%, to HK$377.8. TRACKER FUND rose HK$0.26, or 1.45% to HK$18.22. BABA-SW jumped HK$1.7, or 2.13%, to HK$81.65.
