[ET Net News Agency, 7 April 2025] Half-day turnover of Hong Kong stocks was HK$322.02
billion, with short-sales accounting for HK$57.55 billion, or 17.87% of the market's
turnover. There were 750 short-selling stocks. CSOP HS TECH (03033) and HSCEI ETF (02828)
saw higher value of short sales, accounting for HK$9.12 billion and HK$3.46 billion, or
15.85% and 6.02% of the total short sales value respectively. The transactions represented
81.88% and 30.38% of respective stock's turnover.
TENCENT (00700) and BABA-W (09988) registered HK$3.32 billion and HK$2.82 billion of
short sales, accounting for 5.77% and 4.9% of the total short sales values respectively.
The transactions represented 10.59% and 12.48% of respective stock's turnover.
CSOP HS TECH closed down HK$0.722, or 13.88%, to HK$4.478. HSCEI ETF ended down HK$9.26,
or 10.76%, to HK$76.78. TENCENT fell HK$53.8, or 10.81% to HK$444. BABA-W declined by
HK$17.8, or 14.41%, to HK$105.7.
