[ET Net News Agency, 7 January 2025] Half-day turnover of Hong Kong stocks was
HK$115.52 billion, with short-sales accounting for HK$16.35 billion, or 14.15% of the
market's turnover. There were 627 short-selling stocks. TENCENT (00700) and TRACKER FUND
(02800) saw higher value of short sales, accounting for HK$2.96 billion and HK$2.55
billion, or 18.08% and 15.57% of the total short sales value respectively. The
transactions represented 8.38% and 36.07% of respective stock's turnover.
XIAOMI-W (01810) and CSOP HS TECH (03033) registered HK$1.57 billion and HK$593.07
million of short sales, accounting for 9.58% and 3.63% of the total short sales values
respectively. The transactions represented 16.72% and 42.82% of respective stock's
turnover.
TENCENT closed down HK$27.8, or 6.79%, to HK$381.6. TRACKER FUND ended down HK$0.39, or
1.96%, to HK$19.49. XIAOMI-W fell HK$2.95, or 8.13% to HK$33.35. CSOP HS TECH declined by
HK$0.102, or 2.37%, to HK$4.208.
