[ET Net News Agency, 6 January 2025] Half-day turnover of Hong Kong stocks was HK$70.71
billion, with short-sales accounting for HK$10.49 billion, or 14.83% of the market's
turnover. There were 627 short-selling stocks. TRACKER FUND (02800) and XIAOMI-W (01810)
saw higher value of short sales, accounting for HK$1.04 billion and HK$923.32 million, or
9.88% and 8.81% of the total short sales value respectively. The transactions represented
22.04% and 21.51% of respective stock's turnover.
CSOP HS TECH (03033) and TENCENT (00700) registered HK$741.85 million and HK$583.04
million of short sales, accounting for 7.07% and 5.56% of the total short sales values
respectively. The transactions represented 52.58% and 16.23% of respective stock's
turnover.
TRACKER FUND closed down HK$0.04, or 0.2%, to HK$19.9. XIAOMI-W ended up HK$0.3, or
0.83%, to HK$36.55. CSOP HS TECH fell HK$0.004, or 0.09% to HK$4.314. TENCENT declined by
HK$5.8, or 1.4%, to HK$408.4.
