[ET Net News Agency, 3 January 2025] Full-day turnover of Hong Kong stocks was
HK$160.35 billion, with short-sales accounting for HK$29.01 billion, or 18.09% of the
market's turnover. There were 661 short-selling stocks. TRACKER FUND (02800) and XIAOMI-W
(01810) saw higher value of short sales, accounting for HK$5.74 billion and HK$2.38
billion, or 19.78% and 8.22% of the total short sales value respectively. The transactions
represented 31.47% and 19.78% of respective stock's turnover.
HSCEI ETF (02828) and MEITUAN-W (03690) registered HK$1.78 billion and HK$1.1 billion of
short sales, accounting for 6.14% and 3.78% of the total short sales values respectively.
The transactions represented 20.27% and 23.5% of respective stock's turnover.
TRACKER FUND closed up HK$0.16, or 0.81%, to HK$19.94. XIAOMI-W ended up HK$2.25, or
6.62%, to HK$36.25. HSCEI ETF rose HK$0.88, or 1.22% to HK$73.24. MEITUAN-W jumped HK$3.1,
or 2.06%, to HK$153.7.
