[ET Net News Agency, 27 December 2024] Full-day turnover of Hong Kong stocks was
HK$139.52 billion, with short-sales accounting for HK$16.45 billion, or 11.79% of the
market's turnover. There were 669 short-selling stocks. TRACKER FUND (02800) and XIAOMI-W
(01810) saw higher value of short sales, accounting for HK$1.92 billion and HK$1.26
billion, or 11.65% and 7.65% of the total short sales value respectively. The transactions
represented 28.05% and 13.92% of respective stock's turnover.
HSCEI ETF (02828) and SMIC (00981) registered HK$778.37 million and HK$556.51 million of
short sales, accounting for 4.73% and 3.38% of the total short sales values respectively.
The transactions represented 15.12% and 6.83% of respective stock's turnover.
TRACKER FUND closed down HK$0.08, or 0.39%, to HK$20.22. XIAOMI-W ended up HK$1.4, or
4.27%, to HK$34.15. HSCEI ETF fell HK$0.18, or 0.24% to HK$74.4. SMIC jumped HK$1.5, or
5.15%, to HK$30.65.
