HK$178.46 billion, with short-sales accounting for HK$24.43 billion, or 13.69% of the
market's turnover. There were 685 short-selling stocks. TENCENT (00700) and BABA-W (09988)
saw higher value of short sales, accounting for HK$3.61 billion and HK$1.7 billion, or
14.76% and 6.97% of the total short sales value respectively. The transactions represented
18.89% and 15.94% of respective stock's turnover.
XIAOMI-W (01810) and KUAISHOU-W (01024) registered HK$1.23 billion and HK$1.08 billion
of short sales, accounting for 5.04% and 4.42% of the total short sales values
respectively. The transactions represented 19.06% and 29.54% of respective stock's
turnover.
TENCENT closed up HK$11.2, or 2.7%, to HK$426.4. BABA-W ended down HK$2.85, or 3.44%, to
HK$80.1. XIAOMI-W rose HK$0.85, or 2.76% to HK$31.65. KUAISHOU-W declined by HK$2.45, or
5.42%, to HK$42.75.
