HK$142.87 billion, with short-sales accounting for HK$24.75 billion, or 17.32% of the
market's turnover. There were 679 short-selling stocks. TRACKER FUND (02800) and TENCENT
(00700) saw higher value of short sales, accounting for HK$3.77 billion and HK$3.52
billion, or 15.25% and 14.22% of the total short sales value respectively. The
transactions represented 28.82% and 24.59% of respective stock's turnover.
HSCEI ETF (02828) and BABA-W (09988) registered HK$1.47 billion and HK$721.32 million of
short sales, accounting for 5.94% and 2.91% of the total short sales values respectively.
The transactions represented 22.57% and 15.51% of respective stock's turnover.
TRACKER FUND closed down HK$0.12, or 0.6%, to HK$19.92. TENCENT ended up HK$9.2, or
2.27%, to HK$415.2. HSCEI ETF fell HK$0.18, or 0.25% to HK$72.88. BABA-W declined by
HK$1.1, or 1.31%, to HK$82.95.
