[ET Net News Agency, 19 December 2024] Half-day turnover of Hong Kong stocks was
HK$65.41 billion, with short-sales accounting for HK$9.95 billion, or 15.22% of the
market's turnover. There were 647 short-selling stocks. TRACKER FUND (02800) and TENCENT
(00700) saw higher value of short sales, accounting for HK$1.37 billion and HK$533.61
million, or 13.72% and 5.36% of the total short sales value respectively. The transactions
represented 27.51% and 18.62% of respective stock's turnover.
HSCEI ETF (02828) and BABA-W (09988) registered HK$379.5 million and HK$377.17 million
of short sales, accounting for 3.81% and 3.79% of the total short sales values
respectively. The transactions represented 17.6% and 19.12% of respective stock's
turnover.
TRACKER FUND closed down HK$0.23, or 1.15%, to HK$19.81. TENCENT ended down HK$1.4, or
0.34%, to HK$404.6. HSCEI ETF fell HK$0.58, or 0.79% to HK$72.48. BABA-W declined by
HK$1.8, or 2.14%, to HK$82.25.
