[ET Net News Agency, 16 December 2024] Half-day turnover of Hong Kong stocks was
HK$64.27 billion, with short-sales accounting for HK$10.28 billion, or 16% of the market's
turnover. There were 639 short-selling stocks. HSCEI ETF (02828) and CSOP HS TECH (03033)
saw higher value of short sales, accounting for HK$1.46 billion and HK$1.18 billion, or
14.23% and 11.49% of the total short sales value respectively. The transactions
represented 42.19% and 45.42% of respective stock's turnover.
TRACKER FUND (02800) and BABA-W (09988) registered HK$705.14 million and HK$361.49
million of short sales, accounting for 6.86% and 3.52% of the total short sales values
respectively. The transactions represented 47.92% and 18.74% of respective stock's
turnover.
HSCEI ETF closed down HK$0.16, or 0.22%, to HK$72.94. CSOP HS TECH ended down HK$0.03,
or 0.69%, to HK$4.348. TRACKER FUND fell HK$0.08, or 0.4% to HK$20. BABA-W declined by
HK$1.6, or 1.87%, to HK$84.15.
