[ET Net News Agency, 12 December 2024] Half-day turnover of Hong Kong stocks was
HK$81.08 billion, with short-sales accounting for HK$10.05 billion, or 12.4% of the
market's turnover. There were 630 short-selling stocks. HSCEI ETF (02828) and TRACKER FUND
(02800) saw higher value of short sales, accounting for HK$1.09 billion and HK$996.61
million, or 10.81% and 9.91% of the total short sales value respectively. The transactions
represented 61.31% and 41.91% of respective stock's turnover.
TENCENT (00700) and MEITUAN-W (03690) registered HK$692.31 million and HK$554.35 million
of short sales, accounting for 6.89% and 5.51% of the total short sales values
respectively. The transactions represented 13.41% and 16.6% of respective stock's
turnover.
HSCEI ETF closed up HK$1.52, or 2.06%, to HK$75.38. TRACKER FUND ended up HK$0.34, or
1.67%, to HK$20.66. TENCENT rose HK$12, or 2.93% to HK$421.8. MEITUAN-W jumped HK$3.1, or
1.86%, to HK$170.1.
