[ET Net News Agency, 9 December 2024] Half-day turnover of Hong Kong stocks was
HK$86.69 billion, with short-sales accounting for HK$8.06 billion, or 9.3% of the market's
turnover. There were 639 short-selling stocks. TRACKER FUND (02800) and WUXI BIO (02269)
saw higher value of short sales, accounting for HK$1.23 billion and HK$336.71 million, or
15.27% and 4.18% of the total short sales value respectively. The transactions represented
18.86% and 13.72% of respective stock's turnover.
XIAOMI-W (01810) and TENCENT (00700) registered HK$314.8 million and HK$287.33 million
of short sales, accounting for 3.91% and 3.57% of the total short sales values
respectively. The transactions represented 9.27% and 7.35% of respective stock's turnover.
TRACKER FUND closed down HK$0.15, or 0.75%, to HK$19.89. WUXI BIO ended up HK$1.4, or
8.07%, to HK$18.74. XIAOMI-W rose HK$0.15, or 0.5% to HK$30.05. TENCENT declined by
HK$3.8, or 0.92%, to HK$408.8.
