[ET Net News Agency, 4 December 2024] Half-day turnover of Hong Kong stocks was
HK$62.98 billion, with short-sales accounting for HK$7.5 billion, or 11.91% of the
market's turnover. There were 613 short-selling stocks. MEITUAN-W (03690) and TRACKER FUND
(02800) saw higher value of short sales, accounting for HK$723.48 million and HK$491.07
million, or 9.64% and 6.55% of the total short sales value respectively. The transactions
represented 20.49% and 27.88% of respective stock's turnover.
XIAOMI-W (01810) and TENCENT (00700) registered HK$444.1 million and HK$386.91 million
of short sales, accounting for 5.92% and 5.16% of the total short sales values
respectively. The transactions represented 22.29% and 14.4% of respective stock's
turnover.
MEITUAN-W closed up HK$1.6, or 0.97%, to HK$167.1. TRACKER FUND ended up HK$0.04, or
0.2%, to HK$19.92. XIAOMI-W fell HK$0.05, or 0.17% to HK$29.05. TENCENT declined by HK$1,
or 0.25%, to HK$403.4.
