[ET Net News Agency, 14 November 2024] Half-day turnover of Hong Kong stocks was
HK$81.45 billion, with short-sales accounting for HK$11.63 billion, or 14.27% of the
market's turnover. There were 633 short-selling stocks. TENCENT (00700) and HSCEI ETF
(02828) saw higher value of short sales, accounting for HK$1.47 billion and HK$661.35
million, or 12.63% and 5.69% of the total short sales value respectively. The transactions
represented 17.67% and 24.05% of respective stock's turnover.
MEITUAN-W (03690) and BABA-W (09988) registered HK$638.24 million and HK$458.6 million
of short sales, accounting for 5.49% and 3.94% of the total short sales values
respectively. The transactions represented 25.04% and 18.67% of respective stock's
turnover.
TENCENT closed up HK$6.4, or 1.58%, to HK$410.2. HSCEI ETF ended down HK$0.64, or 0.88%,
to HK$71.9. MEITUAN-W fell HK$4.4, or 2.51% to HK$171. BABA-W declined by HK$1.4, or
1.55%, to HK$89.15.
