HK$113.92 billion, with short-sales accounting for HK$14.59 billion, or 12.81% of the
market's turnover. There were 657 short-selling stocks. XIAOMI-W (01810) and MEITUAN-W
(03690) saw higher value of short sales, accounting for HK$1.05 billion and HK$963.67
million, or 7.19% and 6.6% of the total short sales value respectively. The transactions
represented 25.92% and 22.77% of respective stock's turnover.
BABA-W (09988) and SMIC (00981) registered HK$625.98 million and HK$609.12 million of
short sales, accounting for 4.29% and 4.17% of the total short sales values respectively.
The transactions represented 16.19% and 11.24% of respective stock's turnover.
XIAOMI-W closed up HK$0.8, or 2.83%, to HK$29.1. MEITUAN-W ended down HK$9.5, or 4.95%,
to HK$182.3. BABA-W fell HK$2.6, or 2.77% to HK$91.4. SMIC jumped HK$1.55, or 5.43%, to
HK$30.1.
