HK$177.14 billion, with short-sales accounting for HK$21.36 billion, or 12.06% of the
market's turnover. There were 659 short-selling stocks. CSOP HS TECH (03033) and TRACKER
FUND (02800) saw higher value of short sales, accounting for HK$1.88 billion and HK$1.67
billion, or 8.82% and 7.83% of the total short sales value respectively. The transactions
represented 34.38% and 13.18% of respective stock's turnover.
SMIC (00981) and BABA-W (09988) registered HK$985.73 million and HK$983.09 million of
short sales, accounting for 4.62% and 4.6% of the total short sales values respectively.
The transactions represented 17.42% and 15.89% of respective stock's turnover.
CSOP HS TECH closed up HK$0.21, or 4.63%, to HK$4.75. TRACKER FUND ended up HK$0.9, or
4.22%, to HK$22.22. SMIC rose HK$0.25, or 0.92% to HK$27.45. BABA-W jumped HK$4.5, or
4.37%, to HK$107.4.
