[ET Net News Agency, 27 September 2024] Full-day turnover of Hong Kong stocks was
HK$445.75 billion, with short-sales accounting for HK$61.89 billion, or 13.89% of the
market's turnover. There were 687 short-selling stocks. TRACKER FUND (02800) and BABA-W
(09988) saw higher value of short sales, accounting for HK$5.31 billion and HK$4.14
billion, or 8.57% and 6.69% of the total short sales value respectively. The transactions
represented 22.33% and 20.36% of respective stock's turnover.
HSCEI ETF (02828) and MEITUAN-W (03690) registered HK$4.12 billion and HK$3.18 billion
of short sales, accounting for 6.66% and 5.14% of the total short sales values
respectively. The transactions represented 15.23% and 15.27% of respective stock's
turnover.
TRACKER FUND closed up HK$0.68, or 3.29%, to HK$21.34. BABA-W ended up HK$4.75, or
4.86%, to HK$102.5. HSCEI ETF rose HK$2.12, or 2.93% to HK$74.44. MEITUAN-W jumped
HK$12.4, or 8.15%, to HK$164.6.
