[ET Net News Agency, 26 September 2024] Half-day turnover of Hong Kong stocks was
HK$117.1 billion, with short-sales accounting for HK$18.62 billion, or 15.9% of the
market's turnover. There were 628 short-selling stocks. TRACKER FUND (02800) and BABA-W
(09988) saw higher value of short sales, accounting for HK$4.52 billion and HK$1.45
billion, or 24.26% and 7.77% of the total short sales value respectively. The transactions
represented 53.19% and 18.51% of respective stock's turnover.
CSOP HS TECH (03033) and TENCENT (00700) registered HK$1.24 billion and HK$1.19 billion
of short sales, accounting for 6.68% and 6.4% of the total short sales values
respectively. The transactions represented 61.84% and 13.46% of respective stock's
turnover.
TRACKER FUND closed up HK$0.46, or 2.32%, to HK$20.3. BABA-W ended up HK$4.9, or 5.37%,
to HK$96.2. CSOP HS TECH rose HK$0.16, or 4.14% to HK$4.024. TENCENT jumped HK$14.2, or
3.5%, to HK$419.6.
