[ET Net News Agency, 25 September 2024] Half-day turnover of Hong Kong stocks was
HK$151.07 billion, with short-sales accounting for HK$25.6 billion, or 16.94% of the
market's turnover. There were 655 short-selling stocks. HSCEI ETF (02828) and TRACKER FUND
(02800) saw higher value of short sales, accounting for HK$4.77 billion and HK$3.68
billion, or 18.65% and 14.39% of the total short sales value respectively. The
transactions represented 51.33% and 36.45% of respective stock's turnover.
BABA-W (09988) and TENCENT (00700) registered HK$2.27 billion and HK$1.26 billion of
short sales, accounting for 8.88% and 4.93% of the total short sales values respectively.
The transactions represented 25.78% and 13.54% of respective stock's turnover.
HSCEI ETF closed up HK$1.6, or 2.33%, to HK$70.14. TRACKER FUND ended up HK$0.38, or
1.93%, to HK$20.12. BABA-W rose HK$0.95, or 1.03% to HK$92.95. TENCENT jumped HK$9.2, or
2.29%, to HK$411.4.
