[ET Net News Agency, 24 September 2024] Half-day turnover of Hong Kong stocks was
HK$117.94 billion, with short-sales accounting for HK$24.04 billion, or 20.38% of the
market's turnover. There were 640 short-selling stocks. TRACKER FUND (02800) and HSCEI ETF
(02828) saw higher value of short sales, accounting for HK$8.55 billion and HK$3.6
billion, or 35.58% and 14.99% of the total short sales value respectively. The
transactions represented 60.57% and 81.19% of respective stock's turnover.
CSOP HS TECH (03033) and BABA-W (09988) registered HK$1.29 billion and HK$952.96 million
of short sales, accounting for 5.38% and 3.96% of the total short sales values
respectively. The transactions represented 58.93% and 16.98% of respective stock's
turnover.
TRACKER FUND closed up HK$0.63, or 3.32%, to HK$19.58. HSCEI ETF ended up HK$2.46, or
3.77%, to HK$67.78. CSOP HS TECH rose HK$0.154, or 4.24% to HK$3.79. BABA-W jumped HK$3.4,
or 3.92%, to HK$90.15.
