[ET Net News Agency, 13 September 2024] Full-day turnover of Hong Kong stocks was
HK$88.88 billion, with short-sales accounting for HK$10.82 billion, or 12.17% of the
market's turnover. There were 633 short-selling stocks. BABA-W (09988) and MEITUAN-W
(03690) saw higher value of short sales, accounting for HK$809.71 million and HK$727.44
million, or 7.49% and 6.73% of the total short sales value respectively. The transactions
represented 16.39% and 20.48% of respective stock's turnover.
HSCEI ETF (02828) and TENCENT (00700) registered HK$534.45 million and HK$520.67 million
of short sales, accounting for 4.94% and 4.81% of the total short sales values
respectively. The transactions represented 11.74% and 12.62% of respective stock's
turnover.
BABA-W closed down HK$0.45, or 0.54%, to HK$82.75. MEITUAN-W ended up HK$0.7, or 0.57%,
to HK$123. HSCEI ETF rose HK$0.48, or 0.77% to HK$62.72. TENCENT jumped HK$2.2, or 0.59%,
to HK$374.8.
