HK$84.95 billion, with short-sales accounting for HK$11.64 billion, or 13.7% of the
market's turnover. There were 644 short-selling stocks. MEITUAN-W (03690) and XIAOMI-W
(01810) saw higher value of short sales, accounting for HK$893.81 million and HK$527.41
million, or 7.68% and 4.53% of the total short sales value respectively. The transactions
represented 30.04% and 30.31% of respective stock's turnover.
TENCENT (00700) and HSBC HOLDINGS (00005) registered HK$448.25 million and HK$339.84
million of short sales, accounting for 3.85% and 2.92% of the total short sales values
respectively. The transactions represented 12.54% and 41.75% of respective stock's
turnover.
MEITUAN-W closed up HK$0.1, or 0.08%, to HK$119.3. XIAOMI-W ended down HK$0.12, or
0.64%, to HK$18.54. TENCENT rose HK$0.6, or 0.16% to HK$373.4. HSBC HOLDINGS jumped
HK$0.45, or 0.67%, to HK$67.5.
