billion, with short-sales accounting for HK$12.64 billion, or 17.84% of the market's
turnover. There were 640 short-selling stocks. TENCENT (00700) and BABA-SW (09988) saw
higher value of short sales, accounting for HK$1.16 billion and HK$685.71 million, or
9.22% and 5.43% of the total short sales value respectively. The transactions represented
22.66% and 27.3% of respective stock's turnover.
CCB (00939) and CSOP HS TECH (03033) registered HK$631.54 million and HK$521.15 million
of short sales, accounting for 5% and 4.12% of the total short sales values respectively.
The transactions represented 32.75% and 28.12% of respective stock's turnover.
TENCENT closed up HK$3.6, or 0.96%, to HK$378.6. BABA-SW ended up HK$0.2, or 0.25%, to
HK$78.65. CCB fell HK$0.02, or 0.36% to HK$5.53. CSOP HS TECH declined by HK$0.002, or
0.06%, to HK$3.372.
