billion, with short-sales accounting for HK$17.62 billion, or 18.27% of the market's
turnover. There were 665 short-selling stocks. TRACKER FUND (02800) and TENCENT (00700)
saw higher value of short sales, accounting for HK$2.97 billion and HK$1.09 billion, or
16.85% and 6.21% of the total short sales value respectively. The transactions represented
44.05% and 17.45% of respective stock's turnover.
HSBC HOLDINGS (00005) and CSOP HS TECH (03033) registered HK$719.43 million and
HK$695.29 million of short sales, accounting for 4.08% and 3.95% of the total short sales
values respectively. The transactions represented 40.21% and 45.31% of respective stock's
turnover.
TRACKER FUND closed down HK$0.05, or 0.29%, to HK$17.2. TENCENT ended down HK$2.2, or
0.62%, to HK$354.4. HSBC HOLDINGS rose HK$0.75, or 1.21% to HK$62.8. CSOP HS TECH remained
flat, to HK$3.286.
