[ET Net News Agency, 19 July 2024] Half-day turnover of Hong Kong stocks was HK$55.65
billion, with short-sales accounting for HK$11.6 billion, or 20.84% of the market's
turnover. There were 633 short-selling stocks. TRACKER FUND (02800) and TENCENT (00700)
saw higher value of short sales, accounting for HK$1.28 billion and HK$1.1 billion, or
11.04% and 9.49% of the total short sales value respectively. The transactions represented
44.77% and 29.37% of respective stock's turnover.
MEITUAN-W (03690) and CNOOC (00883) registered HK$661.93 million and HK$513.57 million
of short sales, accounting for 5.71% and 4.43% of the total short sales values
respectively. The transactions represented 39.37% and 21.56% of respective stock's
turnover.
TRACKER FUND closed down HK$0.38, or 2.07%, to HK$17.95. TENCENT ended down HK$3.2, or
0.87%, to HK$366. MEITUAN-W fell HK$1.1, or 0.92% to HK$118.3. CNOOC declined by HK$1, or
4.64%, to HK$20.55.
