[ET Net News Agency, 15 July 2024] Half-day turnover of Hong Kong stocks was HK$50.79
billion, with short-sales accounting for HK$7.61 billion, or 14.99% of the market's
turnover. There were 613 short-selling stocks. TENCENT (00700) and CCB (00939) saw higher
value of short sales, accounting for HK$502.39 million and HK$453.35 million, or 6.6% and
5.95% of the total short sales value respectively. The transactions represented 18.87% and
44.78% of respective stock's turnover.
CSOP HS TECH (03033) and ICBC (01398) registered HK$395.03 million and HK$285.33 million
of short sales, accounting for 5.19% and 3.75% of the total short sales values
respectively. The transactions represented 32.6% and 38.47% of respective stock's
turnover.
TENCENT closed down HK$5.6, or 1.41%, to HK$391.4. CCB ended down HK$0.06, or 1.06%, to
HK$5.6. CSOP HS TECH fell HK$0.082, or 2.21% to HK$3.628. ICBC declined by HK$0.04, or
0.89%, to HK$4.44.
