[ET Net News Agency, 12 July 2024] Half-day turnover of Hong Kong stocks was HK$65.39
billion, with short-sales accounting for HK$8.24 billion, or 12.61% of the market's
turnover. There were 599 short-selling stocks. TENCENT (00700) and MEITUAN-W (03690) saw
higher value of short sales, accounting for HK$993.52 million and HK$424.61 million, or
12.05% and 5.15% of the total short sales value respectively. The transactions represented
16.04% and 15.51% of respective stock's turnover.
CCB (00939) and CSOP HS TECH (03033) registered HK$385.54 million and HK$322.63 million
of short sales, accounting for 4.68% and 3.91% of the total short sales values
respectively. The transactions represented 22.39% and 29.7% of respective stock's
turnover.
TENCENT closed up HK$10.6, or 2.75%, to HK$395.4. MEITUAN-W ended up HK$4.7, or 4.05%,
to HK$120.8. CCB rose HK$0.1, or 1.81% to HK$5.63. CSOP HS TECH jumped HK$0.06, or 1.65%,
to HK$3.694.
