billion, with short-sales accounting for HK$16.74 billion, or 14.84% of the market's
turnover. There were 648 short-selling stocks. TENCENT (00700) and ICBC (01398) saw higher
value of short sales, accounting for HK$1.38 billion and HK$848.48 million, or 8.23% and
5.07% of the total short sales value respectively. The transactions represented 15.97% and
34.38% of respective stock's turnover.
MEITUAN-W (03690) and CCB (00939) registered HK$681.61 million and HK$672.44 million of
short sales, accounting for 4.07% and 4.02% of the total short sales values respectively.
The transactions represented 16.01% and 20.97% of respective stock's turnover.
TENCENT closed up HK$12, or 3.18%, to HK$389. ICBC ended up HK$0.16, or 3.64%, to
HK$4.55. MEITUAN-W rose HK$6.4, or 5.57% to HK$121.4. CCB jumped HK$0.2, or 3.57%, to
HK$5.81.
