[ET Net News Agency, 28 March 2024] Full-day turnover of Hong Kong stocks was HK$117.26
billion, with short-sales accounting for HK$19.47 billion, or 16.6% of the market's
turnover. There were 667 short-selling stocks. MEITUAN-W (03690) and TENCENT (00700) saw
higher value of short sales, accounting for HK$1.62 billion and HK$953.5 million, or 8.31%
and 4.9% of the total short sales value respectively. The transactions represented 24.62%
and 10.42% of respective stock's turnover.
TRACKER FUND (02800) and BYD COMPANY (01211) registered HK$676.25 million and HK$660.99
million of short sales, accounting for 3.47% and 3.4% of the total short sales values
respectively. The transactions represented 22.39% and 25.67% of respective stock's
turnover.
MEITUAN-W closed up HK$5.7, or 6.26%, to HK$96.8. TENCENT ended up HK$1.8, or 0.6%, to
HK$303.8. TRACKER FUND rose HK$0.13, or 0.78% to HK$16.75. BYD COMPANY declined by HK$1.2,
or 0.59%, to HK$201.6.
