billion, with short-sales accounting for HK$16.37 billion, or 17.14% of the market's
turnover. There were 698 short-selling stocks. BABA-SW (09988) and NTES-S (09999) saw
higher value of short sales, accounting for HK$1.13 billion and HK$804.86 million, or
6.88% and 4.92% of the total short sales value respectively. The transactions represented
31.35% and 45.94% of respective stock's turnover.
TENCENT (00700) and HSCEI ETF (02828) registered HK$755.67 million and HK$662.8 million
of short sales, accounting for 4.62% and 4.05% of the total short sales values
respectively. The transactions represented 12.28% and 27.63% of respective stock's
turnover.
BABA-SW closed down HK$1.25, or 1.52%, to HK$81.1. NTES-S ended up HK$0.3, or 0.19%, to
HK$155.9. TENCENT rose HK$0.2, or 0.06% to HK$334.2. HSCEI ETF declined by HK$0.34, or
0.48%, to HK$69.82.
