[ET Net News Agency, 11 March 2020] Samson Holding Ltd. (00531) said the group is
expected to record a loss of US$45 million for the year ended 31 December 2019 as compared
with a profit of US$17.9 million for the corresponding year in 2018.
The loss was primarily attributable to the increase in trade tariff imposed by the
United States on certain PRC exported goods from 10% to 25% in 2019 which led to (i) a
decrease in sales of approximately 4.5% as compared with 2018; and (ii) a non-cash
impairment on property, plant and equipment of approximately US$42 million in a PRC
subsidiary due to decrease in its production capacity. (RC)
