入選建築（82）：榕樹頭、廟街、美都餐廳

榕樹頭、廟街及美都餐廳的故事:

　　避風塘內漁舟忙碌地進出、老人及孩童在榕樹下的廟前空地休憩、廟內天后目送漁民作息、沿岸大街因廟會興旺而佈滿排檔和商舖、再發展為唐樓林立的街道，而特色的警署、果欄和餐廳老店都隨著歲月成為地區文物。這是離島漁村？是油麻地！現在的廟街由裝飾藝術風格的美都餐廳唐樓，穿越五殿兩進的天后古廟及榕樹廣場，伸展到遊客最愛的廟街步行街市集，在迎接市區發展的當下，期待著這段香港由漁村發展為國際都會的故事可以保存和再續。

YUNG SHU TAU, TEMPLE STREET, MIDO CAFÉ

　　Fishing boats operate busily in the typhoon shelter; children and elders leisure in the temple forecourt under the banyan tree canopy; Goddess Tin Hau watches fishermen working and resting from within the temple; the coastal thoroughfare prosper with stalls and shops due to temple festivals, and develops to street full of shophouses; characterized police station, fruit stalls, and old restaurant become district heritage as time pasts by. Is this a fishing village on the outer islands? It is Yaumatei! Temple Street stretches from the Mido Café in the Art Deco style shophouse, through the banyan plaza of the Tin Hau Temple of five halls and two blocks, to the pedestrianized temple street market adored by tourist. In anticipation of urban development, it aspires to preservation and sustaining of the story of Hong Kong evolving from fishing village to the present metropolis.
