[ET Net News Agency, 22 July 2021] Chengdu Expressway Co., Ltd. (01785) said it is
expected that the group's net profit attributable to the shareholders of the company
recorded in the first half of 2021 will be approximately RMB300 million to RMB330 million,
representing an increase of approximately 350% to 400% as compared to the corresponding
period in 2020.
Such increase was mainly because in the first half of 2020, due to the impact of the
COVID-19 pandemic and the policy of the Ministry of Transport of the People's Republic of
China to waive tolls for toll expressways nationwide during the period from 00:00 on 17
February 2020 to 00:00 on 6 May 2020, the group's toll income declined significantly in
the first half of 2020, and with the gradual control of the COVID-19 pandemic and
resumption of toll collection, the toll income in the first half of 2021 increased
significantly as compared to the corresponding period in 2020. (RC)
