[ET Net News Agency, 17 August 2021] Air China Limited (00753) said in July 2021, the
group recorded increases in combined passenger traffic (measured by revenue passenger
kilometres (the RPK)) as compared to the same period last year and last month. Passenger
capacity (measured by available seat kilometres (the ASK)) recorded a year-on-year
increase of 34.4% and passenger traffic recorded a year-on-year increase of 38.4%. For
domestic routes, passenger capacity increased by 33.0% and passenger traffic increased by
37.4%, as compared to the same period last year. For international routes, passenger
capacity decreased by 0.3% and passenger traffic decreased by 15.6%, as compared to the
same period last year. Passenger capacity and passenger traffic on regional routes
recorded large scale of increase, as compared to the same period last year. The overall
passenger load factor was 73.8%, representing an increase of 2.1 percentage points as
compared to the same period last year. The passenger load factor increased by 2.4
percentage points for domestic routes and decreased by 8.9 percentage points for
international routes, as compared to the same period last year, and the passenger load
factor for regional routes recorded a year-on-year increase of 55 percentage points.
In terms of cargo operations, cargo capacity (measured by available freight tonne
kilometres (the AFTK)) increased by 8.2% year on year. Cargo and mail traffic (measured by
revenue freight tonne kilometres (the RFTK)) increased by 12.2%, the volume of cargo and
mail carried increased by 7.1% as compared to the same period last year. The cargo load
factor was 39.4%, representing a year-on-year increase of 1.4 percentage points. (RC)
