[ET Net News Agency, 14 July 2021] Dongfeng Motor Group Company Limited (00489) said
the first mass-produced automotive-grade IGBT module product in Central China has rolled
off the assembly line from Zhixin Semiconductor Module Packaging Factory of Zhixin
Technology Co., Ltd. (Zhixin Technology), which is an important practice for Dongfeng
Motor Group to have independent control over the core resources of key technologies for
new energy vehicles, as well as the first fruit of strategic cooperation between Dongfeng
Motor Group and CRRC.
In June 2019, Zhixin Technology (82% owned by Dongfeng Motor Group) and CRRC jointly
established Zhixin Semiconductor Co., Ltd. (Zhixin Semiconductor) in Wuhan, aiming at
achieving independent control over IGBT core resources, among which Zhixin Technology
holds 53% equity interests of Zhixin Semiconductor. With the joint efforts of both
parties, an automotive power semiconductor production line based on the world-class
sixth-generation IGBT technology was completed in Park No. 1 of Dongfeng New Energy
Automobile Industrial Park in two years, and the first batch of products officially rolled
off the assembly line. The total planned production capacity of the Zhixin Semiconductor
project amounted to 1.2 million, and an annual packaging capacity of 300,000
full-car-level modules would be achieved in the first phase, so as to build a power
semiconductor industrialization base. (RC)
