[ET Net News Agency, 20 September 2018] Citi Research citing its Macau gaming industry
sources indicated that GGR for the first 18 days could have reached MOP13.5bn. The daily
run-rate in the past nine days slowed down to MOP722m (versus MOP777m in first nine days
of September).
Excluding the 33-hour blanket suspension of all casinos due to Typhoon Mangkhut ordered
by the Macau government, the research house believes the ADR would have shown a pick up
versus the first nine days.
Sands (01928), SJM (00880) and Galaxy (00027) reportedly gained share at the expense of
the other three. Citi lowered its September GGR forecast from MOP25bn (+17% YoY) to
MOP22.5bn (+5% YoY) mainly reflecting the impact from the typhoon. (KL)
