HK$170.02 billion, with short-sales accounting for HK$28.13 billion, or 16.54% of the
market's turnover. There were 751 short-selling stocks. BABA-SW (09988) and TENCENT
(00700) saw higher value of short sales, accounting for HK$4.29 billion and HK$2.91
billion, or 15.25% and 10.34% of the total short sales value respectively. The
transactions represented 36.14% and 20.81% of respective stock's turnover.
TRACKER FUND (02800) and JD-SW (09618) registered HK$2.16 billion and HK$1.84 billion of
short sales, accounting for 7.67% and 6.55% of the total short sales values respectively.
The transactions represented 58.36% and 37.43% of respective stock's turnover.
BABA-SW closed down HK$6.7, or 5.61%, to HK$112.7. TENCENT ended down HK$14.8, or 3.2%,
to HK$447.8. TRACKER FUND fell HK$0.42, or 1.76% to HK$23.5. JD-SW declined by HK$15.6,
or 4.85%, to HK$306.
