HK$156.59 billion, with short-sales accounting for HK$26.27 billion, or 16.78% of the
market's turnover. There were 738 short-selling stocks. BABA-SW (09988) and TENCENT
(00700) saw higher value of short sales, accounting for HK$4.13 billion and HK$2.75
billion, or 15.72% and 10.49% of the total short sales value respectively. The
transactions represented 31.76% and 16.52% of respective stock's turnover.
MEITUAN-W (03690) and TRACKER FUND (02800) registered HK$2.3 billion and HK$1.71 billion
of short sales, accounting for 8.77% and 6.52% of the total short sales values
respectively. The transactions represented 20.44% and 37.95% of respective stock's
turnover.
BABA-SW closed up HK$11, or 6.67%, to HK$175.8. TENCENT ended up HK$10.5, or 2.1%, to
HK$509.5. MEITUAN-W rose HK$8.2, or 2.87% to HK$293.8. TRACKER FUND jumped HK$0.38, or
1.44%, to HK$26.82.
