[ET Net News Agency, 7 January 2020] Daiwa Research lifted its target price for Tencent
Holdings (00700) to HK$450 from HK$410 and maintained its "buy" rating.
The research house believes Tencent's wide distribution network in China and active
investment in game studios overseas will enable it to secure good titles for publishing
and collaboration opportunities.
Daiwa sees Tencent as well-positioned to gain share globally, which in turn would lead
to accelerated revenue growth for its Chinese games in international markets. It said that
Tencent owns an investment portfolio with extensive coverage of the value chain of the
game industry. Its stakes in some well-known companies, not only help Tencent secure
future collaboration opportunities in extracting values from popular games but also
facilitate technology exchange. (KL)
