[ET Net News Agency, 23 September 2020] UBS Global Research lifted its target price for
Xiaomi Corporation (01810) to HK$23 from HK$19 and maintained its "neutral" rating.
With the continuity of Huawei's high-end model refreshes at risk, Xiaomi's relatively
new premium models, the Mi 10 series, and Mi 10 Ultra models, have consistently ranked as
top sellers in China's e-commerce platforms in recent months, the research house noted.
While doing well in China's premium market, in overseas markets, Xiaomi is facing
greater competitive challenges from Samsung, particularly in India and Europe.
UBS raised its estimated 2020-21 smartphone shipments for Xiaomi to 132m/160m units from
125/150m units (+25%/8%), including 46m/65m in Greater China (17.8m in 1H), 27.5m/27.5m in
India (13.9m in 1H), and 20.6m/34.3m in Europe (5.7m in 1H). (KL)
