[ET Net News Agency, 7 July 2020] China Tonghai Securities raised its target price for
Xiaomi Corporation (01810) to HK$18.1 from HK$12 and maintained its "buy" rating.
The research house believes the long-term investment thesis for Xiaomi remains intact
despite geopolitical and economic uncertainties posing as near-term headwinds. 1H was
undeniably challenging, as global supply chains ground to a halt and the Chinese economy
(where it derived 55.7% of 2019 revenue) buckled under the strain of global health risks.
Yet, Xiaomi's revenue and MAU growth are poised to rebound in the next twelve months,
thanks to its unique business model premised on omnichannel sales, consumers' increasing
appetite for online services, and its push into new internet verticals, Tonghai said. (KL)
