[ET Net News Agency, 5 February 2020] The Macau government yesterday asked all six
casino operators to temporarily suspend their casino operations for 15 days effective from
today, given two more coronavirus cases involving local residents.
Goldman Sachs estimated the 15-day suspension of casino operations will translate to a
3-4% gross gaming revenue (GGR) or 5-6% EBITDA impact in FY2020.
The research house maintained its forecast of 9% GGR decline in FY2020, which already
assumed a 31% GGR decline in 1H 2020. Goldman estimated an additional week of casino
suspension could lower its EBITDA estimate by another 2-3% versus its base case, all else
equal. (KL)
