[ET Net News Agency, 20 September 2024] Half-day turnover of Hong Kong stocks was
HK$90.96 billion, with short-sales accounting for HK$14.61 billion, or 16.06% of the
market's turnover. There were 621 short-selling stocks. TRACKER FUND (02800) and BABA-W
(09988) saw higher value of short sales, accounting for HK$4.72 billion and HK$968.98
million, or 32.32% and 6.63% of the total short sales value respectively. The transactions
represented 60.2% and 16.49% of respective stock's turnover.
HSCEI ETF (02828) and AIA (01299) registered HK$931.92 million and HK$520.92 million of
short sales, accounting for 6.38% and 3.57% of the total short sales values respectively.
The transactions represented 76.89% and 25.48% of respective stock's turnover.
TRACKER FUND closed up HK$0.28, or 1.5%, to HK$19. BABA-W ended up HK$2.1, or 2.45%, to
HK$87.8. HSCEI ETF rose HK$0.85, or 1.32% to HK$65.24. AIA jumped HK$1.6, or 2.83%, to
HK$58.05.
