billion, with short-sales accounting for HK$16.38 billion, or 15.93% of the market's
turnover. There were 660 short-selling stocks. TENCENT (00700) and BABA-SW (09988) saw
higher value of short sales, accounting for HK$1.2 billion and HK$842.55 million, or 7.34%
and 5.14% of the total short sales value respectively. The transactions represented 17.34%
and 22.22% of respective stock's turnover.
CSOP HS TECH (03033) and CCB (00939) registered HK$796.89 million and HK$742.96 million
of short sales, accounting for 4.87% and 4.54% of the total short sales values
respectively. The transactions represented 38.15% and 42.91% of respective stock's
turnover.
TENCENT closed up HK$4.8, or 1.32%, to HK$368.2. BABA-SW ended up HK$0.05, or 0.07%, to
HK$76.55. CSOP HS TECH fell HK$0.016, or 0.48% to HK$3.308. CCB jumped HK$0.04, or 0.74%,
to HK$5.46.
