billion, with short-sales accounting for HK$16.72 billion, or 16.64% of the market's
turnover. There were 649 short-selling stocks. HSBC HOLDINGS (00005) and TRACKER FUND
(02800) saw higher value of short sales, accounting for HK$1.07 billion and HK$960.52
million, or 6.42% and 5.74% of the total short sales value respectively. The transactions
represented 30.99% and 16.06% of respective stock's turnover.
TENCENT (00700) and CSOP HS TECH (03033) registered HK$938.84 million and HK$820.83
million of short sales, accounting for 5.62% and 4.91% of the total short sales values
respectively. The transactions represented 14.76% and 45.48% of respective stock's
turnover.
HSBC HOLDINGS closed down HK$2.5, or 3.66%, to HK$65.75. TRACKER FUND ended down
HK$0.34, or 1.9%, to HK$17.51. TENCENT fell HK$7.4, or 2.02% to HK$358.2. CSOP HS TECH
declined by HK$0.102, or 2.98%, to HK$3.322.
